Update. Latest version of Seed4.Me VPN for Windows has built-in bug fix for this issue, as well as protection against this bug. Click here to download the latest Seed4.Me VPN for Windows.

We encountered few cases when our VPN customers had no Internet after Windows Update. The reason is the conflict between OpenVPN and Windows DNS Subsystem. The problem occurs only on the latest versions of Windows (build 1903 and later) with Seed4.Me VPN application 1.0.63 and earlier versions.

Solution 1:

1. Download fix-network.bat file (Right click on the link > Save As…)

2. Locate the downloaded file, Right click and select Run as administrator

Your PC will be rebooted and the problem should be solved.

Solution 2:

Step 1. Open Windows PowerShell as administrator: click START > Windows PowerShell (Admin)

Step 2. Enter the line to remove OpenVPN DNS Policies:

reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters\DnsPolicyConfig /f

Step 3. Enter one more line to reset Windows Firewall configuration:

netsh advfirewall reset

Step 4. Restart your computer.
